About the event

Is stress and anxiety overwhelming you? Do you frequently get stuck in your head with repetitive worries or negative thoughts and you can’t seem to stop the obsessive thinking?  Are you on edge at all times, unable to enjoy the present moment?  If this is you, this workshop may be what you need to get out of your head, and connect to your body to heal stress and anxiety.

Anxiety is a natural reaction to fear, threats to our safety and stress.  Our systems are designed to react to fears and threats so we can make decisions and choices that will keep us safe. But sometimes we get stuck, and anxiety stays with us.

Constant and long term stress and anxiety create detrimental impacts on our bodies, showing up as depression, high blood pressure, digestive issues, weight gain and heart disease.  Managing stress and anxiety now is an investment in long term health.

The key to reducing anxiety is calming the nervous system, and this workshop will help you experience a variety of practical body-based techniques to help begin healing anxiety from a body focused perspective.

We will share some of our favorite practices, which are guaranteed to provide new insight, and new peace. We’ll help you understand how the nervous system works and what’s happening in your mind and body when you get stuck in anxiety loops. We’ll teach you how to redirect your attention through mindfulness, breath and movement to calm your nervous system.

We will share gentle and restorative movements from chair yoga (no experience, balance, or flexibility required!), breathing and, vagus nerve exercises, as well as guided mindfulness practices. All movements and practices are trauma-informed, giving you choice in what works best for you.

We are confident you will leave us feeling a renewed sense of peace and take with you resources, skills and information to empower you to live a calmer, more peaceful life today.

About Your Presenters

We are excited to bring to the community an amazing therapist who specialize in anxiety, stress reduction, grief and trauma.  Nola will share information and teach new skills for moving from the analytical brain to a mind-body connection that provides true healing for stress and anxiety.

Nola Simpson is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, (LCMHC) specializing in grief and trauma, and is currently training as a yoga instructor. Nola helps clients move through and with grief and heal trauma, ultimately finding joy in life again.
