About the event

🗓 Wednesday, September 24, 2025 · 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM📍 Sky Pond, Apex, NC

Grief and trauma often leave us feeling persistent anxiety, fatigued, unmotivated, or emotionally numb. Gaining insight into your nervous system can help you find steadiness, restore connection, and begin to move toward healing.

What You’ll Learn & Experience

The Nervous System, Grief and Trauma

Learn how loss and trauma impact your autonomic nervous system, and how your body is wired for both protection and healing.

Understanding the Nervous System

Learn about the nervous system through an exploration into polyvagal theory. Explore the difference between hyperarousal (fight/flight) and hypoarousal (freeze/shutdown), and how to recognize your unique nervous system cues.

Introduction to the Vagus Nerve

Discover the vagus nerve — your body’s built-in pathway to calm and connection — and how this essential part of your nervous system supports healing after grief and trauma. We'll learn how it works and many exercises to begin improving both vagal efficiency and tone.

Vagus Nerve Flow for Emotional Regulation

You’ll be guided through a gentle, beginner-friendly movement and breathwork sequence designed to support your vagus nerve — the body’s natural pathway to emotional balance and safety. This flow helps shift the nervous system toward regulation, connection, and calm. No yoga experience needed.

This is not group therapy. This is a grief-informed education and embodiment workshop — a space to explore how your nervous system responds to life’s hardest moments, and how to begin softening into healing.

✨ Come as you are. Leave with greater understanding, practical tools, and a deeper sense of self-awareness.

This workshop is offered by the Center for Loss, Grief, Hope & Healing — a compassionate counseling practice devoted to walking with you through life’s most tender losses. Rooted in clinical integrity and heartfelt care, our offerings are designed to support your healing with gentleness, depth, and hope.
