No Map for This

A Grief Support Group for the Early Days After Loss

If you’ve recently lost someone you love and find yourself thinking,

“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.”

"I don't know how to grieve - am I doing this right?"

 “Why can’t I think straight?”

“Will I always feel this way?”— you are not alone.

Grief doesn’t come with a guidebook. But we can write one, together. The early weeks and months can feel like you're dropped into unfamiliar terrain without a compass. People expect you to "move forward," but inside, you're just trying to survive.

No Map for This is a 6-session online support group designed to help you navigate those first overwhelming months after loss — not with answers, but with tools, guidance, and compassionate company on the road to healing.

Led by Nola Metz Simpson, LCMHC, a licensed grief and trauma therapist and founder of the Center for Loss, Grief, Hope & Healing, this group offers structure to something that feels so disorienting. You will leave each session with practical tools, emotional support, and a clearer sense of what’s happening in your mind and body — and how to care for yourself in the midst of it. Through education, resources and tools, we will design a personalized grief support plan for you...your own map to navigate this foggy time.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Why grief feels so disorienting - how it impacts your mind and body

  • Tools and resources to reduce grief's impact and calm the nervous system

  • How to make space for overwhelming (or missing) emotions

  • Gentle ways to befriend grief with tools to work with, not against, it

  • The importance of boundaries in grief and ways to set and enforce them

  • How to navigate grief without a map and start finding the path to healing

Group is 6 session and meets online the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, June, July & August

You must be a North Carolina Resident to join

 Starts June 11, 2025

 7:00–8:30 PM (ET)

 $30 per session

Once you RSVP for the group, we will schedule a call to further discuss the group and complete enrollment. Group size is limited to ensure support and connection — register early to reserve your spot.

This group will give you space to breathe, tools to anchor yourself, and the reassurance that you are not alone. You’ll leave each session with something to hold onto and plans to put in place to support your healing. Most importantly, you will be in community with others who understand what you are going through and together we will help design a plan to navigate your grief journey.

Please select the RSVP button and share some information with us. An introductory phone call will be scheduled where we will gather more information from you so we can provide the best support possible, and enrollment will take place at that time. We are honored to have you join us and look forward to being a part of your healing journey.

Nola Metz Simpson, MPA, M.Ed., LCMHC, NCC

As the founder of the Center for Loss, Grief, Hope & Healing, I am passionate about walking alongside individuals through the heavy, disorienting seasons of loss. My approach is compassionate, practical, and rooted in the belief that while there’s no map for grief, no one should have to navigate it alone and there is a way to find the path to healing. This group offers a space to feel seen, supported, and gently guided as you begin your journey. I am honored to walk this path with you.

Warmly, Nola
