Allyson (Ally) Mattingly is passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults as they navigate grief, anxiety, and life’s more tender transitions. She brings a warm, steady, and approachable presence to her work, creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and able to express themselves in ways that feel natural to them. Ally believes that when clients feel truly seen and supported, meaningful healing and growth can begin.

Her approach is creative, relational, and developmentally attuned.

 

Ally incorporates art, music, and movement into sessions, offering clients meaningful ways to express what may be difficult to put into words. She integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy to help clients build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and make sense of their experiences in ways that feel empowering rather than overwhelming. Through this work, clients learn how to regulate big emotions, communicate more effectively, and feel more confident in themselves.

Ally began her clinical work in children’s grief and hospice care, supporting young clients and their families through profound loss and medical complexity. She provided individual, family, and group support to children coping with the death of a loved one, as well as to families navigating a child’s hospice or palliative care journey. This experience shaped her ability to sit with grief in a gentle, grounded, and deeply compassionate way.

She later transitioned into outpatient therapy, where she expanded her work with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, ADHD, depression, and life transitions, while also supporting adults navigating grief, emotional overwhelm, and periods of change. Across all settings, Ally remains committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care that honors each client’s story and fosters meaningful growth.
